PAINTED TINA BOX "svepask" -bridal gift Sweden

A wonderful painted TINA BOX . It is made by the overlaped "svepask" technique. Text (Swedish rhyme) on lid around the edge "War glad alla dar - ty hjartat ingen vinter har" (Be happy every day - as heart no winter has). Size: about 12.8 inches long (incl. projectings on lid), 5.8 inches wide and 5.5 inches high (top of lid-stoppers). Unfortunalety the handle is gone but we enclose one that could be used as a replacement and it fits. We are told that this once was a bridal gift. The box and paintings have slight wears but overall condition is very good for its age.
