Swedish plate RORSTRAND Nylund 1976 Nils Holgersson

Rorstrand’s Christmas plate 1976 is in a series that Rorstrand introduced in 1968. Like its predecessors, the theme for this year’s Christmas Plate is that from the wellknown book “Nils Holgersson’s Wonderful Journey in Sweden” by famous Swedish author and Nobel Prize winner Selma Lagerlof.
Nils Holgersson has now reached Uppland and Uppsala, where from the window of his student room, he hears the students singing their traditional welcome to spring, in front of the university.
Creator of the theme is Gunnar Nylund, former Rorstrand chief designer and wellknown around the world for, among other works, his monumental ceramic reliefs. Underneath signed” G.N. “Gunnar Nylund”. Size: 7.5 inches across. Very good condition.
